The Forest Rover     just possibly the 'first' Monster Truck

.
The Roadless Land Rover 109, or Forest Rover as it was also known as, was launched in 1961 and sold a whopping total of nine vehicles before being taken off the market. Trials conducted in 1960 showed this vehicle with 48" diameter wheels and tires to have "astonishing performance" in any terrain.

The question that begs to be asked - Did Land Rover create the world's first Monster Truck? After all, Bob Chandler did not develop 'Big Foot' until the mid 70's.
